Army Open Water Swimmers in Gibraltar
The Armys Open Water Swimming Squad has been training in Gibraltar in preparation for this years Inter Service Cross-Channel race. In addition to the 20 Officers and Soldiers in the squad, are two very special guests who are preparing for the same race.
Cpl 'Scotty' Blaney of the Grenadier Guards and SAC Mike Goody of the RAF Regiment are both carrying serious injuries which they sustained whilst on tours of duty in Afghanistan and both are using the MODs Battle Back programme in which wounded personnel use sport as a means of rehabilitation. The Two servicemen are both out-patients of the Defence Medical Re-habilitation Centre at Hedley Court.
